8)  What is Metro Soccer?

Metro (or Select) is a level of soccer between recreational and competitive. The league offers an environment for dedicated and skilled players to develop and play. Metro (Select) is classified as Division 3 youth soccer (recreational teams are Division 4). The difference between Metro (Select) and Recreational is the opportunity for the team to participate in tournaments.  Those teams that participate in tournaments will play more than ten (10) games during the season.  Metro teams require a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach.  Head Coaches must have obtained at least an "E" level coaching certificate and Assistant Coaches must have obtained at least an "F" level coaching certificate.  Either the head or assistant coach that appears on the team's CYSA roster must be a currently certified USSF Referee.  Players who are interested in a higher level of play and competition may contact the Metro coordinator of any of the Clubs for information about next year's season.  More information about the Metro Soccer Program can be found by clicking on the Metro link on the left side of this page.  If you do not find the information you need, please contact the metro coordinator by e-mail at metro@greenhavensoccer.com.
